Description:
Evening primrose oil is acquired from wildflower from evening primrose plant, scientifically known as Oenothera biennis belongs to Onagraceae family. Evening Primrose is native to North America and it also grows in Europe and other part of South Hemisphere. Evening primrose plant is a herbaceous flowering plant , a circle of leaves grows close ground around evening primrose stems, its leaves grow on both sides of the stems at alternating levels and it has yellow flowers that bloom in the evening hence the name Evening Primrose. It growth reaches up to 10 cm to vigorous species grows to 3 meters
Extraction:
Evening primrose oil is obtained from seeds of Evening primrose plants through cold pressed method and partially refined method.
Composition:
Evening primrose is mainly constitutes of fatty acid gamma-linolenic acid, linoleic acid, amino acid and Vitamin E.
Properties:
Evening primrose oil is pale yellow to golden yellow in appearance and has characteristics odour.
Blending:
Evening primrose oil is nicely blends with other oils such as geranium, lavender, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, helichrysum oil etc.
